Some call us a uniquie hotel, some a culture hotel. An experience, most people say.

We ourselves are very proud of  the fact  that we managed to create the hotel that we wanted from the day the idea was formed.

Karaktärshotellet Björkbacken is a modern three star hotel with high standard. We are very proud of our comfortable beds, air -conditiong and internet in every room.

We wanted to create a unique profile. One evening when we were invited to Vimmerby digitale picture archive the idea was brought to us. It started as a  project to find characters and personalities from the time when both the last century and Astrid were young. 

We found people who has influenced Astrid`s writing and personalities that you can read about in her books. People that exicted in Wimmerby,  everybody with a special place in the community. Now we have given the characters a place in history by giving each of them there own in room in our hotel.
